Under 10s Blue

ROUND 16:  Beleura Blue 0.0 0.1 0.1 1.2 (8) defeated by Somerville 3.2 4.2 6.4 6.4 (40)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Congratulations boys on a great year.  We had our ups and downs but all in all you boys exceeded all expectations.

BEST PLAYERS:  Ethan Anthony, Kayne Gipp, Corey Riley Zeek Chapman, jayden Suey, Dylan Belshaw

GOALKICKERS:  Ethan Anthony (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  With a very strong wind, Somerville used it to their advantage.  We worked hard in defence and played good football in the conditions.  2nd Quarter :  The boys tried hard but weren't able to have a very good quarter.  We really need to work harder in the second half.  3rd Quarter :  In very trying conditions and against a much bigger and stronger oppostion, we were unable to do what we normally do.  Hopefully we can finish off the year with a good, strong hard quarter.  4th Quarter :  After a dissapointing first three quarters, the boys tried really hard and put in a great last quarter to finish off the season on a positive note.  Well done on a great season boys!

ROUND 15:  Beleura Blue 0.0 1.2 1.2 2.2 (14) defeated by Tyabb 3.1 4.1 4.4 6.4 (40)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Well done boys on a gutsy effort.  We may have been beaten by the better team on the day, but you proved you never give up.  And to see some of our players really step up today was fantastic - Great Effort"

BEST PLAYERS:  Thomas Panich, Aaron Intihar, Ethan Anthony, Jack Turnbull, Jamie Escudero, Ronan Miller-Rose

GOALKICKERS:  Ethan Anthony (1), Luke Mills (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter:   Tyabb came out of the blocks hard and fast, especially out of the centre. We tried hard to score but weren't able to get through their defence.  2nd Quarter :  Alot better quarter from everyone.  Worked alot harder for the ball but need to be more direct with our kicking forward instead of kicking sideways.  3rd Quarter :  A good tight contest in this quarter with not much scoring and both sides battling it out between their backlines.  If the boys can turn it on in the last quarter , it should be a tight finish.  4th Quarter :  The boys rally tried hard but weren't able to match it today.  Apart from the first quarter, the boys were able to match it with Tyabb.

ROUND 14:  Beleura Blue 1.3 2.4 4.5 8.5 (53) defeated Crib Point 0.1 1.2 3.1 3.1 (19)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Congratulations boys on the best win of the year.  Your passing, your backing up and your general team play was brilliant.  By far the best team game you have played yet.  Well done."  Congratulations to Luke Mills on 25 games - Fantastic achievment.

BEST PLAYERS:  'The whole team'

GOALKICKERS:  Thomas Panich (3), Luke Mills (3), Robbie O'Toole (1), Ethan Anthony (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  Fantastic first quarter against a much bigger and stronger looking opposition.  We played really well, with Darcy playing strong along the half back line.  We ran the ball forward many times.  One of our best quarters for the year - keep it going boys.  2nd Quarter:   In  a see-sawing quarter, both sides had lots of opportunities to score. Crib Point came out hard early but to our credit we came back strong with plenty of good running and kicking.  The boys really need to work hard in the next quarter to set things up in the last.  3rd Quarter :  Well...what a great quarter from the boys!  Those are the sort of quarters that win matches.  Everyone tried and played their hardest.  Pobably the best 'team quarter the boys have played all year.  Keep it up for 10 more minutes boys!  4th Quarter :  Well, wht can I say, one word...Unbelievable!  Well done.

ROUND 13:  Beleura Blue 0.0 0.1 1.2 2.3 (15) defeated Devon Meadows 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 (12)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Well done boys on a hard fought win.  We still have alot of work to do with our bumping and holding positions.  And we need to start talking to each other more - not enough voice.

BEST PLAYERS:  Jayden Suey, Ronan Miller-Rose, Zeek Chapman, Logan Conway, Corey Riley, Dylan Belshaw

GOALKICKERS:  Luke Mills (2)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  Very tight first quarter, with both sides playing very congested footy.  Ethan on the half back line stopped many forward thrusts and was very good.  When we were entering our forward line we kept kicking the ball too wide instead of going straight toward goal.  2nd Quarter :  Alot better second quarter with the ball spending most of the time in our forward line.  With 30 players around the ball trying to get a kick it was a very congested forward line with our boys unable to break through for a goal.  We need to talk more and open up the game a bit more so we can use each other more.  3rd Quarter :  A great third quarter again with our boys playing alot better football.  When we get the ball, we just need to move it on quicker which will openup the ground and the game alot more.  4th Quarter :  Fantastic last quarter!  All the boys played really well and never gave in all day.  They really worked hard in the last quarter which resulted in a great game.

ROUND 12:  Beleura Blue 2.2 3.2 3.3 3.3 (21) defeated by Hastings 0.0 1.0 2.1 4.2 (26)

COACHES COMMENTS:  " Well done on a fantastic effort today boys.  Even though we lost, you did exactly what you were asked in holding your positions.  From this point on, things are only going to get better"

BEST PLAYERS:  Ronan Miller-Rose, Zeek Chapman, Logan Conway, Corey Riley, Cameron Dingley, Dylan Belshaw

GOALKICKERS:  Ethan Anthony (2), Hastings player (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter : Good first quarter with the boys making the most of their opportunities in the forward line with a couple of goals.  The backline held their positions well and stopped alot of their forward thrusts.  2nd Quarter :  The boys went to sleep a bit this quarter which allowed Hastings to have alot more of the play.  The boys have to work hard in the second half with lots more running and talking.  3rd Quarter :  A very tight third quarter with both sides playing hard football with lots of bumps.  It's going to be a tight last quarter with both sides showing lots of spirit.  4th Quarter :  Very tight last quarter, with the ball spending most of the time in Hastings forward line.  The boys played really well today, holding their positions for most of the day which resulted in alot more open sytle of football.  Well done boys!!

ROUND 11:  Beleura Blue 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 (12) defeated by Beleura Red 2.0 3.3 3.3 3.5 (23)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Bad luck boys.  Today you were beaten by the better team on the day.  Let's learn off this one and play our best football from the first quarter not wake up in the last quarter."

BEST PLAYERS:  Darcy Fitzsimmons, Aaron Intihar, Ethan Anthony, Jack Turnbull, Dylan Belshaw, Jaime Escudero

GOALKICKERS:  Luke Mills (2)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter : A very good tight first quarter with both sides working the ball to both ends of the ground.  With the conditions today a bit wet and slippery, it's going to come down to who wants it the most and gets in first for the ball.  2nd Quarter :  The Red's really dominated this quarter with our boys trying very hard but just seemed to be playing from behind and waiting for the ball to come to them.  The boys will come out firing in the second half.  3rd Quarter :  A real battle this quarter with both sides unable to break through to score.  We really need to work harder for the ball in the last quarter and once we get it, move it quickly towards our goals.  4th Quarter :  Well it took until the last quarter for us to turn it on and start playing good hard team football.  If the boys worked as hard as that in this quarter for the whole game, they would have been unstoppable.  Against a bigger and stronger opposition today, the boys can hold their heads high for tying all day.

ROUND 10:  Beleura Blue: 0.0 3.2 3.2 3.3 (21) defeated Pearcedale/Baxter 0.3 0.3 2.4 2.4 (16)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Congratulations boyson another gutsy performance. Your intensity and your running was fantastic and you wee starting to look for each other, and starting to play as a team.  Well done boys - you deserved to win."  Farewell to Samuel Furniss and family.  Good luck on your move and we wish you all the best for the future.  A huge thank you to Lee Garnet who does our match report every week.  You are a legend - Thank you.

BEST PLAYERS:  Thomas Panich, Robbie O'Toole, Zac Garnet, Kayne Gipp, Darcy Fitzsimmons, Luke Mills

GOALKICKERS:  Thomas Panich (1), Luke Mills (1), (Unknown borrowed Pearcdale player (1))

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  Great first quarter from the boys.  They played really tough and hard foots.  The back line played really well and passed the ball to each other well.  Darcy stopped a couple of goals back on the last line of defence.  2nd Quarter :  Fantastic quarter of football with plenty of running, handballing and talking which all helped towards plenty of scoring opportunities.  Again the backline stood up to the challenge and fought hard to stop them.  3rd Quarter :  The boys went to sleep for most this quarter.  They didn't seem to run and talk for most of the quarter.  Again the backline worked really hard together.  With the scores pretty much level, it's shaping up to be a great final quarter.  4th Quarter : What a great last quarter with both sides moving the ball between their forward lines.  Our boys played their best footy for a long time which resulted in a great game.

ROUND 9:  Beleura Blue 0.1 0.2 0.2 0.2 (2) defeated by Somerville 2.2 4.2 6.5 7.7 (49)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Today we were beaten by a team who were hungrier for the ball (a better team).  There are things we need to work on so this doesn't happen in the future.  Learn to work as a team - a great game by all."

BEST PLAYERS:  Ronan Miller-Rose, Zeek Chapman, Logon Conway, Corey Riley, Cameron Dingley, Lachlan Meylan

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter : A very untidy first quarter.  The boys didn't seem to use the ball very well.  Somerville seemed to be too big and fst and used the ball very well between themselves.  Our backline did really well against alot of their forward thrusts.  2nd Quarter : Alot better second quarter.  The boys tried alot harder with plentty of good passages of play.  We need to man up better in the second half and look for each other more.  3rd Quarter : Well...the boys are trying very hard but the Somerville boys are just too big and strong, especially when we get the ball and just kick it into the air for them to mark.  I think if we can get it and run, run, run and kick to open spaces, we will have a good last quarter.  4th Quarter : Even though we tried all day, the Somerville team were too big and strong for us today.  To our boys credit they tried hard all day and didn't drop their heads for the whole match.  Well done boys!!

ROUND 8:  Beleura Blue 0.1 1.3 2.3 3.4 (22) defeated Tyabb 2.2 2.3 2.4 2.4 (16)

COACHES COMMENTS: "Fantastic effort boys.  You proved today that you can come from behind to win a game and work as a team.  Well Done!"

BEST PLAYERS: Thomas Panich, Aaron Intihar, Ethon Anthony, Jack Turnbull, Nathan Gamble, Jaime Escudero

GOALKICKERS:  Luke Mills (2), Aaron Intihar (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY: 1st Quarter :  The boys started off ok with pleny of running and talking but the Tyabb boys werre far too strong which resulted in them scoring often.  2nd Quarter :  A great quarter.  The boys really played good team football.  They looked for each other and shared the ball well between themselves.  With plenty of running and talking it should shape up to be a great second half.  3rd Quarter :  Great quarter.  The boys handballed really well and moved the ball forward really well.  The backline were great this quarter and stopped many of Tyabb's attacks.  The last quarter is shaping up to be a beauty.  4th Quarter :  Well what a quarter.  With things pretty much all tied up, both sides played a great last quarter with many forward thrusts into both forward lines.  Special mention must go to Darcy who stopped numerous goals on the last line of defence.  Well done boys - Great game!!!

ROUND 7:  Beleura Blue 0.1 1.1 1.1 2.1 (13) defeated by Crib Point 1.0 2.1 2.2 4.3 (27)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Well boys, we went down today to a team who wanted the ball more.  Our running and holding positions just didn't happen and we had too many kids chasing kicks.  Let's learn from this and next week hold our psitions and play our style of football - not the oppostion's."

BEST PLAYERS:  Zac Garnet, Kayne Gipp, Lachlan Meylan, Luke Mills, Samuel Furniss, Darcy Fitzsimmons

GOALKICKERS:  Nathan Gamble (1), Ethon Anthony (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  A tough opening quarter with both sides battling to score.  With lots of numbers around the ball, it was hard to kick the ball forward to someone.  I think everyone was just chasing a kick instead of playing their positions.  2nd Quarter :  The boys tried alot harder this quarter and looked, used and talked alot more.  I think if the boys can 'spread' themselves out a bit more in the second half, they will have alot more scoring opportunities.  3rd Quarter :  A tight third term by both sides, with all players chasing a kick.  The game is not being played with many passages of play.  Lets hope the last quarter can be played with the boys playing a bit more in their positions.  4th Quarter :  Alot better last quarter, but the Crib Point boys were a bit too big and strong for us today.  I think alot of our boys tried too much to try and just get a kick instead of listening to the coach and playing in their positions.

ROUND 6:  Beleura Blue 1.1 4.2 5.3 6.3 (39) defeated Devon Meadows 0.0 0.1 1.1 2.1 (13)

COACHES COMMENTS: "Congratulations boys on another job well done.  Today I asked you to hold your positions and open the game up and all in all it was fantastic effort.  Your kicking and passes were excellent, and you made the ball move alot more freely.  Well done boys."

BEST PLAYERS:  Logon Conway, Corey Riley, Cameron Dingley, Jayden Suey, Dylan Belshaw, Robbie O'Toole

GOALKICKERS: Ethon Anthony (2),  Luke Mills (2), Kayne Gipp (1), Jaime Escuderio (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter: A little slow to start with.   The boys started using the ball better after five minutes with some good handballing and passages of play resulting in some good scoring.  2nd Quarter :  The boys really dominated this quarter and moved the ball well as they worked towards goals.  The backline did great when the ball came their way and the centre line passed the ball well into the forward line resulting in more goals.  3rd Quarter :  With the side changed right around for this quarter, the boys relished the challenge and played a great quarter.  They all ran and handballed and used on another really well.  With plenty of talk the boys showed they canplay anywhere.  4th Quarter:   The last quarter today was full of run, handballs, long kicks and plenty of team talk.  The boys today were thrown a challenge by the coach to all play in different positions and to do things a bit differently, and they all stepped up and played a great team game.  Well done boys!!!

ROUND 5
:  Beleura Blue 1.1 2.1 4.3 5.4 (34) defeated Hastings 0.1 1.2 2.4 3.6 (24)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Well done boys on another great win.  Just remember the win doesnt just happen - you have to make it happen.  Don't take any games for granted.  Overall you played well and fought hard - well done." Welcome to the Fitzsimmons family.

BEST PLAYERS:  Ethon Anthony, Jack Turnbull, Nathan Gamble, Jaime Escudera, Ronan Miller-Rose, Zeek Chapman

GOALKICKERS:  Ethon Anthony (2), Nathan Gamble (1), Thomas Panich (1), Luke Mills (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY: 1st Quarter :  Hastings played really good.  Our boys thought it was just going to happen. After five minutes, our boys woke up and started playing more team football resulting in a late goal.  2nd Quarter :  A very even second quarter with one goal each.  Both sides battled from end to end with no real winner for the quarter.  3rd Quarter : Boys played with alot more intensity and shared the ball alot more in this quarter, with the ball being held for most of the time in our forward half before a late surge by Hastings resulted in a last second goal for them.  All even going into the final quarter. 4th Quarter :  Great last quarter by the boys.  They moved the ball forward many times resulting in a goal.  Everybody played really well once they realised it just wasn't going to just happen.  Well done boys!!

ROUND 4:  Beleura Blue 0.0 1.1 2.2 2.4 (16) defeated Beleura Red 0.0 0.0 0.1 2.1 (13)

COACHES COMMENTS:  "Wow - Words cannot express how happy I am.  You boys played as a team, and every player participated in the game.  What a fantastic win.  Keep up the great work boys."

BEST PLAYERS:  Aaron Intihar, Thomas Panich, Darcy Fitzsimmons, Sam Furnuss, Luke Mills, Lochlan Meylan

GOALKICKERS: Ethon Anthony (2)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  A very tight opening quarter with both sides battling the ball between the centre lines.  2nd Quarter :  A bit more open in this quarter with our boys opening it up and running forward on numerous occassions.  3rd Quarter :  The boys really played well this quarter and had many forward entries.  The backline did brilliantly and repelled many of their forward attacks.  4th Quarter :  The boys ran out of a bit of puff in the last quarter but were still able to hang on.  It was a great game not only for the kids but also the feeling from the crowd was electric.  Well done boys!!  P.S. Look out McDonalds!!!!

ROUND 3:  Beleura Blue 0.0 0.0 0.3 0.3 (3) defeated by Pearcedale/Baxter 1.1 2.2 4.2 4.2 (26)

COACHES COMMENTS: "Congratulations boys on a well fought out game.  You did extremely well in windy conditions to hold Pearcedale to four goals.  The defence was fantastic, and the team is now starting to play as a team together. Well done boys."

BEST PLAYERS: Nathan Gamble, Luke Mills, Ethon Anthony, Kayne Geipp, Thomas Panich, Jaime Escudero.

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter : Great pressure - Backline was fantastic.  Need to talk more to each other.  2nd Quarter :  Great marks - need to man up and look who we are kicking to.  3rd Quarter:   Alot better team work.  Losts of talking - good team skills. Much better quarter.  4th Quarter :  Great pressure.  Shared the ball around well, and as well as picking up your men, you need to start playing in front.

ROUND 2:  Beleura Blue 1.0 3.1 3.1 5.1 (31) defeated Somerville 0.4 0.5 2.8 2.9 (21)

COACHES COMMENTS: "Congratulaitons boys on a well fought win.  Today you really started to play as a team.  The pressure you put on the opposition was outstanding.  Well done boys." - Welcome to Samuel Furness and family.

BEST PLAYERS: Kayne Gipp, Ethon Anthony, Nathan Gamble, Jaime Escudero, Jack Turnbull, Cameron Dingley

GOALKICKERS: Ethon Anthony (2), Zac Garnet (1), Luke Mills (1), Nathan Gamble (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY:  1st Quarter :  Great start with the opening goal. Fantastic defending and good pressure.  2nd Quarter :  Great kicking and marking with two great goals.  3rd Quarter :  Took the pressure off and let them back in.  4th Quarter :  Great goals, good ball skills, great pressure and great finish. Well done boys.

ROUND 1: Beleura Blue 0.0 1.1 1.2 4.3 27 defeated by Tyabb 3.3 4.4 6.5 6.5 41

BEST PLAYERS: "Whole Team"

GOAL KICKERS: Ethon Anthony (2), Zac Garnet (1), Thomas Panich (1)

MATCH COMMENTARY: 1st Quarter - Tried hard but Tyabb were very good in defence and got loose balls alot more than we did.  2nd Quarter - Alot better quarter.  We manned up better and started using eachother alot more which resulted in our first goal.  3rd Quarter - Tried hard.  Alot better manning up with plenty of talking and sharing of the footy.  4th Quarter - Great last quarter with lots of forward activity and resulting in lots of goals. The ball was shared amongst many of the boys which helped with the scoring.
